Campus Day 2025: Discover the future of education at KIT!
On May 14, 2025, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) opened its doors for the “Open Day”. The campus day offered a variety of activities and information for prospective students who wanted to find out more about bachelor's and master's degree programs. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., visitors were able to experience a variety of lectures, guided tours and hands-on activities that continued into the evening.
The extensive program included various lectures such as “Geoecology”, “Quantum Physics in your Cell Phone” and “Sports Science in keeping with the times”. In addition, the study programs of the KIT faculties were also presented. For example, there was a lecture on industrial engineering for anyone interested in engineering.
A variety of lectures and guided tours
The information events started at 10:00 a.m., followed by further exciting lectures until the afternoon. Topics of interest included “Are black holes super accelerators?” and “Human Curiosity and Artificial Intelligence.” Tours of various laboratories were also offered, including the laboratory for building and environmental aerodynamics and the eye tracking laboratory.
The participation program was equally impressive. Visitors had the opportunity to take part in the “digital energy game” or learn how metals become strong through special processes. These interactive elements not only promoted learning, but also made the campus day an entertaining experience.
Information stands and exhibitions
Numerous information stands were available throughout the day, providing information about various courses such as chemistry, chemical biology, computer science and mechanical engineering. Those interested were able to contact study advisors directly and clarify questions about studying abroad, career opportunities, applications and admission. There were also special activities, such as a quiz rally through the KIT library and a parents' café, which made the event family-friendly.
The exhibitions ranged from “Chemical Biology” to the “Research Institute for Steel, Wood and Stones”. In addition to the technical and scientific aspects, the event also presented the creative side of KIT, such as through the exhibition “Art in Architecture”.
Campus Day 2025 was the first of its kind as part of the KIT Open Day on Campus South and offered an excellent platform for everyone interested in an academic career. A well-structured program and a wide range of offerings promoted both the need for information and the engagement of visitors. Whether through panel discussions or personal conversations with students, the event represented a valuable opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about the opportunities at KIT.
