Children's University Research Day on July 6th
A special highlight is the Children's University Research Day on July 6, 2025. Here, the participating children can conduct their own research and become active in workshops. The research day takes place in the Ernst-von-Sieglin lecture hall on the upper floor of the round tower in Hohentübingen Castle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is aimed at children aged 10 to 12 cmfi.uni-tuebingen.de points out.
In collaboration with researchers from the Cluster of Excellence CMFI and TRR261, the children can take part in hands-on events. Exciting activities are planned such as DNA extraction, examining microbes on everyday objects such as smartphones, the growth of various bacteria and observing microorganisms under the microscope. There is also the opportunity to visit the exhibition “MicroPop – Design, Science and the World of Microbes” at MUT in Hohentübingen Castle.
Organizers and outlook
The event is organized by a dedicated team including Gisela Bauer-Haffter, Simon Hackl and Franziska Höhn, to name just a few. This initiative aims to introduce children between the ages of seven and twelve to the world of science and to promote independent research.
Further information about the Children's University Research Day will be published on the university's website in May. This program provides an excellent opportunity for children to develop curiosity and gain a deeper understanding of scientific topics.
