A delegation from the National Yuri Fedkovych University in Chernivtsi visited the Ludwigsburg University of Education on May 8, 2025. This visit took place not only on a symbolic date, the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, but also in the context of the ongoing support that Ludwigsburg University has provided since the hostilities in Ukraine in 2022. As part of the visit, discussions took place in the morning between specialist representatives from both universities, followed by an exchange between the rectors. Rector Biloskurskiy thanked the Senate of Ludwigsburg University of Applied Sciences for their valuable support and emphasized the fundamental values of peace, democracy, human dignity and education, which are crucial in times like these.
Partnership and solidarity
University leaders from both institutions highlighted the importance of solidarity between their communities. Rector Keßler recalled the long-standing partnership that has existed since the 1990s. The engineering sciences at Chernivtsi University in particular could contribute to supporting AI tools at the Ludwigsburg University. This illustrates the different strengths in academic cooperation.
The National Yuri Fedkovych University, founded in 1875 in the Habsburg Empire, has overcome a variety of challenges in recent years. Particularly noteworthy is the DAAD program “Digital Umbrella for Ukrainian Foreign Language Teachers”, which has been running since 2022 and supports Ukrainian students and teachers. In addition, since the summer semester of 2022, the ERASMUS program has enabled students from Chernivtsi to study exchange at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
