The demand for such events is already noticeable. A similar concept was exemplified in 2002 at the University of Tübingen, where 5,000 children flocked to the auditorium to hear professors answer big “Why?” Hope to answer questions, including the extinction of dinosaurs and how volcanoes work. Such formats not only promote interest in science, but also offer special access to complex topics that are presented in a child-friendly setting in a book about the extinction of the dinosaurs is documented.

The Bamberg Children's University works closely with the Oberfranken media group and the Franconian Day and has won the Bamberg Natural History Museum as an additional cooperation partner in the 2025 summer semester. The children's university not only offers an entertaining learning environment, but also direct access to specialist knowledge and current research topics. Events like these are crucial to arouse children's interest in science and technology at an early age, similar to the initiatives of the AKAD Children's University, which give children between the ages of eight and twelve an insight into the world of research.
