Fascination with the Old Testament: Discover Ruth Kohn's art in Passau!

On Thursday, May 8th, at 5:30 p.m., an extraordinary after work tour with the artist Ruth Kohn will take place in the University Church of St. Nikola in Passau. This event is in collaboration with the Diocese of Passau, the Department of Catholic Theology at the University of Passau and the Catholic Student Community of Passau (KSG).

Ruth Kohn, born in 1937 in Trebusice/Czech Republic, presents her impressive works in the exhibition “Pictures of the Old Testament”. This exhibition can be seen on loan in the University Church of St. Nikola and offers visitors the opportunity to delve deeply into the stories of the Old Testament. Her paintings and drawings are created on large wooden panels and are supplemented by biblical texts presented in Hebrew, Czech and German. The works of art are displayed in the side chapels and on the west wall of the church, creating an impressive atmosphere.

Exhibition opening and guided tours

Ruth Kohn's artistic work has already been recognized with several awards. For example, on November 17, 2023, she received the honorary award from the Rottal-Inn district in Arnstorf, and a laudation was given by Dr. Volker Ziegert held. Your works can not only be admired in Passau; they were also presented in international settings, such as at the opening in Paris on April 30, 2024, where the exhibition was on view from May 1 to 26, 2024.
