KU students exceed expectations: Highest satisfaction in Bavaria!
The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) enjoys outstanding reviews from its graduates, which confirm the high quality of studies at this institution. According to current data, KU alumni overwhelmingly rate their study experience positively. In a survey by the Bavarian State Institute for University Research and Planning, 54% of graduates stated that they found the combination of theory and practice to be “very good” or “good”, which is a notable difference compared to only 38% of the average at other Bavarian universities. These results come from a pool of 6,625 former students who graduated between 2022 and 2023 and are part of the Bavarian Graduate Study.
74.5% of those surveyed rate the technical advice and support at the KU positively, while the Bavarian average is just under 61%. Over 70% of students rated the study conditions at the KU as positive, which sets the university apart from other universities, where only just under 63% had similar ratings. In addition, the results show that 85.6% of alumni rate access to courses as pleasing, while the average is 80%.
Satisfaction and recommendation
The satisfaction of former KU students has increased in recent years. Around 81% of those surveyed said they “definitely” recommend studying at the KU, which is above the Bavarian average of 73%. Compared to last year, overall satisfaction at KU rose from 79% to around 85%, while other universities saw a decline from 72% to 67%. This shows a clear preference for the KU among graduates, which was even recorded during the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021, which were burdened by the corona pandemic.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the KU also has excellent results in the area of first jobs after graduation. 68% of graduates are satisfied with their first job, while the average is 58%. The KU's streamlined study organization is also reflected in various aspects, such as the international orientation of 61% compared to the overall average of almost 52%.
Study organization and competencies
The university also performed positively in the assessment of the organization and coordination of courses. Around 72% of KU students rate the content aspects as good, which is also above the average of 63% for all other universities. In terms of transparency, over 82% of respondents rate the information at the KU positively, while the average is 71%.
In terms of skills, the data shows that KU's alumni score above the average of other universities in key skills such as responsibility (73.5%), communication skills (over 78%) and organizational skills (over 84%), where the values are 60%, 63% and 78.5%. These skills, both academic and practical, help KU graduates find a job on average just 1.8 months after graduation, which in turn represents an advantage compared to the 2.4 months for graduates from other universities.
These results of the Bavarian graduate study confirm the relevance of quality assurance and organizational concepts at the KU. Comparable data from the CHE university rankings also show a high level of satisfaction among students in Germany overall, with over two thirds being satisfied with their general study situation. This illustrates the positive trend in academic training and the importance of feedback-based improvements within universities.
