The CHE ranking at a glance
The CHE ranking has been an evaluation that has been integrated into the ZEIT study guide for twenty years and evaluates over 10,000 study programs at German universities. The methodology includes comprehensive data collection, which includes both students and departments. For the winter semester 2025/2026, all relevant study subjects were included in the comparison, with the faculties that did not provide any data also being taken into account in the public database. The new ZEIT study guide 2025/26 with the latest results of the CHE ranking will be available from May 10th.
As part of the ranking, a variety of indicators were used to evaluate the study offerings. These include, among other things, contact with professional practice, measures for employability and the equipment of the learning rooms. The number of students, the gender distribution and the number of first-year students are also taken into account in the evaluation. Particular attention is also paid to support at the beginning of your studies and to the overall satisfaction of the students.
