ESD announcements and awards
The initiatives in Bamberg are also in the context of a broader national award for education for sustainable development (ESD), which is awarded annually by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German UNESCO Commission. This award, which has existed since 2016, aims to make visible and strengthen the commitment to education for sustainable development. The winning initiatives benefit from a network and receive support in public relations. The next award ceremony will take place next August, which can also support Bamberg's institutions in their efforts to promote sustainable practices.
