The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt mourns the loss of an outstanding personality. Prof. Dr. Brigitte Louis, a highly esteemed psychologist, died on August 15, 2025. Her work and commitment to the university leaves a lasting mark on the academic community.
Prof. Louis had been a member of the Munich Benedictine community of Venio since 1969 and lived under the name Sr. Birgitta. From 1977 to 2002 she made a name for herself as a professor of psychology at the Faculty of Religious Education and Church Educational Work. In her role as Vice Dean, she headed the faculty department at the Munich location from 1985 to 1987 and from 1991 to 1992.
