Start EUNICE research clubs: Find solutions for companies!
The EUNICE Student Research Clubs (SRC) are starting up again and are looking for innovative minds who would like to get involved in interdisciplinary teams. The current call for applications is open to all bachelor's and master's students as well as doctoral students from the EUNICE partner universities. The application deadline ends on September 26th. This second version of the SRC is a cooperation with ASG, the operator of the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park, and aims to address real challenges faced by a German company.
A central goal of this initiative is to develop instruments for the long-term retention of foreign skilled workers to the ASG and the industrial park. Project participants will have the opportunity to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment, which increases the attractiveness of this offer.
Interdisciplinarity in focus
Another aspect of the SRC initiative is the emphasis on gender balance, interdisciplinarity and internationality in the allocation to the research clubs. The participants first work together online before presenting their solutions in a pitch to ASG representatives and a EUNICE jury. The winning club has the chance to gain insights into the ASG and the industrial park between November 10th and 14th.
In addition, the EUNICE International Student Research Club (SRC) specifically brings together students from a wide range of disciplines and courses of study in order to address real problems faced by companies. One of the initiatives aims to solve a challenge posed by another German company, LEAG. Technical, economic, environmental, sociological, political and legal aspects are on the agenda.
Opportunities for winning teams
Participants in the LEAG initiative will have the opportunity to work in virtual groups from March 2025. At the end of their work, the results will be presented in an online meeting at the beginning of April 2025. The winners will be selected by April 17th and will then be able to work in LEAG's co-working space in Cottbus in May 2025. Benefits for the winners include coverage of travel and accommodation costs as well as a prize and lunch sponsored by LEAG, the second largest energy producer in Germany with around 7,000 employees.
The EUNICE Student Research Clubs are more than just an academic project. They offer students the opportunity to develop skills such as business plan writing and entrepreneurial thinking. Inclusion and sensitivity to the inclusion of women is also a key concern. With semi-annual calls for proposals and the opportunity to apply individually using a simple form, the clubs promote a culture of commitment and collaboration.
Students from EUNICE partner universities are therefore encouraged to apply for these unique experiences and thus actively contribute to a sustainable solution to real company problems. The EUNICE International Student Research Club is not only an academic challenge, but also a platform to prepare for future careers.
