Ceremonial handover of graduation certificates to architecture students!
On April 30, 2025, the ceremonial handover of the final certificates for the students of the bachelor's and master's degree programs in architecture at the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg took place in the Mies studio. Under the motto “Time”, the graduates were recognized for their achievements and the challenge behind the academic programs was highlighted. This event attracted numerous guests, including families, friends and professors.
The handover not only celebrated the successes of the graduates, but also the solidarity within the BTU architecture community. The students have worked hard over the past few years and overcome many challenges to achieve their degrees. It is particularly pleasing that those present had the opportunity to exchange ideas about future prospects.
Courses of study and challenges
The architecture courses at BTU include both a bachelor's and a master's degree. Students are required to learn in an interdisciplinary environment, which is regulated by the modules and the subject-specific examination regulations. The bachelor's degree requires 180 credit points in six semesters, while the master's degree requires 120 credit points in four semesters. This is supplemented by an interdisciplinary course of study, which is compulsory for all students.
The First-time guide offers a comprehensive overview of the necessary formalities that first semester students should observe during their first weeks at Faculty 6. This includes important information about enrollment, using the BTU account and the infrastructure for teaching.

A studio workstation is also provided for the students, which represents an important basis for creative work. In addition, there is a high-quality model making workshop that can be used after taking part in introductory courses.
