Filmuni Summer School 2019: Experience international film knowledge live!
The Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF Film University is planning an expanded summer school for 2019, which was launched last year. This program is aimed at an international audience and offers a diverse range of courses that combine the interests of different creative minds. Film University reports that interested participants can apply worldwide.
After the successful launch last year, the introductory courses were supplemented by new English-language offerings. This expansion includes the Virtual Reality Lab, Corporate Film and the Spring Film Camp, which are specifically tailored to the needs of employees from various areas of the media and communications industry. The courses offer both theoretical and practical insights into innovative techniques and the fundamentals of film culture.
Diverse course offerings
TheVirtual Reality Labwill take place from February 25th to March 1st, 2019 and will be led by VR Research Fellow Sylvius Lack. The focus is on developing interactive, immersive content using Unreal Engine©. This course is aimed at employees of media and communications companies as well as media professionals from film, journalism, advertising and marketing.
In theCorporate filmIn the course, which takes place from March 14th to 16th, 2019, participants will develop their own conceptual approaches for corporate videos. Ulrike Oßwald will lead the seminar, which is particularly aimed at employees from the areas of corporate communications, marketing, PR and press spokespersons.
This offers aspiring filmmakersSpring Film Campfrom March 18 to 29, 2019, an intensive program with a focus on cinematic storytelling and teamwork. The filmmakers Cosima Lange and Jean Boué will be in charge, with the offer aimed primarily at international participants aged 18 and over who would like to pursue a career in the field of film.
Learning place with tradition
The Babelsberg Film University, located in the UNESCO City of Film, is known for its traditional role in film production. In the oldest film studios in the world, participants not only benefit from high-quality learning opportunities, but also from state-of-the-art technical equipment. Lecturers, professors and researchers provide competent insights into film culture and production, supported by close collaboration with international partners from culture, science and politics in order to promote networking with the professional world. Creative City Berlin highlights the importance of this networking.
In addition, the film university offers comprehensive training on topics such as the history of film and television, popular entertainment, and aesthetic and artistic practice as part of its master's program in global audiovisual media communication. The aim is to qualify specialists who will work in responsible positions in media and market research, culture and event management or in university teaching and research.
