New pilot program for creative storytelling starts in October!
A new pilot program will launch in October 2025, focusing on using the social web for socially engaged stories. The *Social Storytelling Lab* includes three days of intensive training that offers lectures, case studies, talks and workshops. Experts such as Rayk Anders, Julia Althoff from MESH Collective, Karolin Schwarz from HOAXmap.org and Jean Peters from peng!collective will take part in this program. The topics range from creative development for web video and web campaigning to reach generation and target group-specific web communication. The project is supported by important sponsors such as UNICEF, the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Center for Social Responsibility (ZGV), in collaboration with UFA X. The target group includes socially active film and television creators, NGOs and activists. Those interested can apply by September 21st to take part in this pioneering program that aims to spread important messages in the digital world, such as Film University reported.
Another highlight of the training season is the *Winterclass Serial Writing and Producing*, which will be held for the fourth time in November 2025. The event consists of two modules, each lasting three days, focusing on skills in producing and writing high-quality drama series. Experts like Kelly Souders, Maggie Murphy and other industry greats will share their knowledge. Cooperating partners include Real Film, RTL, Sky Deutschland, UFA and ZDF Digital. The application deadline for this extremely popular training program ends on September 30th Film University points out.
Social storytelling in the digital age
The importance of social storytelling is continually increasing. A book on the topic presents various methods aimed at increasing attention and reach on social media. Platforms covered include Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Authors Marie Elisabeth Müller and Devadas Rajaram are experienced experts in their fields and offer step-by-step instructions for developing effective storytelling strategies. These strategies are essential for PR work in the digital era, like Rheinwerk Publishing turns out.
Important aspects of social storytelling include the creation of micro-stories, explainer videos and live formats. In order to implement campaigns successfully, measuring their success is also important. The book offers clear examples for creating content and provides a building block for social storytelling. This makes professional storytelling child’s play, even with your smartphone.
Further training opportunities in content creation
Further training in content creation and storytelling is available both part-time and full-time. One module of this comprehensive training lasts 21 days, and 100% of the costs can be covered by an education voucher. Participants can focus on creative techniques and trend research, while digital tools enable cost-effective and creative work from home. Open source tools are used for video production and the application of storytelling techniques, such as ebam.de is to be read.
The focus of the further training includes the topic plan, editorial plan and production plan. The basics of media law and text creation techniques are also taught. By concentrating on storytelling and visual storytelling, the aim is to strengthen customer trust and enable an emotional connection to brands.
The differentiation between full-time and part-time study programs is reflected in the more in-depth analyses, exercises and longer time windows for reports and projects in full-time format. The requirements in content creation remain high, including a high level of digital affinity as well as skills in doing your own research, formulating texts and graphically preparing new formats.
