Study information day at the BTU: Discover your future in your studies!

On July 1, 2025, the Study Information Day took place at the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). This event was aimed at students, high school graduates, parents and teachers who wanted to find out about the university's wide range of courses. The program offered numerous introductory and advice opportunities as well as informative stands that were intended to provide insights into the various study programs and the study conditions at the BTU. Registrations were not required for participation.

The central point of contact for those interested was the central lecture hall building. The day began with an opening lecture about studying at the BTU, which took place from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in Audimax 2. During the event, visitors had the opportunity to have individual discussions with staff from the student advisory service and with other university facilities in the foyer. Information about studying abroad was also provided.

Program and offers

The event program included a special focus on STEM courses under the motto “Math, physics and AI – made easy!” Furthermore, information about student financing and student housing was provided by the Ostbrandenburg Student Union. These aspects are of great importance for many prospective students, especially today when financial aspects have to be taken into account when studying.

Visitors also had the chance to tour modern laboratories and research facilities. They were able to experience exciting experiments to participate in, which was intended to promote interest in scientific topics. In addition, various student clubs and initiatives were presented, offering an insight into student life and the BTU campus atmosphere.

Another study information day is already planned for January 9, 2025, where similar offers will be made available for high school graduates from Saxony and prospective students from Brandenburg and other federal states.
