Team EasyMeister inspires with victory in the Berlin business plan competition!

On May 5, 2025, the EasyMeister team from the European University Viadrina won the audience award at the Berlin-Brandenburg 2025 business plan competition. This award was presented on April 29, 2025 in Berlin. Of the 201 business concepts submitted, the best ten made it to the final presentation, with EasyMeister impressively presenting its digital learning platform for preparing for the master's examination in a 90-second short presentation.

The audience prize is endowed with 2,000 euros and was presented by Berlin's Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey and Brandenburg's Minister for Economic Affairs Daniel Keller. Team member Heiko Schwendtner expressed relief and joy about the win. The prize money is to be invested in the further development of the courses offered and the expansion of collaboration with lecturers.

The concept of EasyMeister

EasyMeister offers an innovative platform with digital learning modules, step-by-step instructions and an intelligent learning algorithm for efficient exam preparation. The founding team consists of Heiko Schwendtner and Ive Kahlisch, both graduates of the Brandenburg Technical University (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg. The founding was supported by the Viadrina start-up center, which supports aspiring entrepreneurs.

The Berlin-Brandenburg (BPW) business plan competition is the largest regional business start-up initiative in Germany. Supporters include the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) and the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB). These institutions offer founders valuable resources and information to successfully implement their ideas.

Advantages of competition

The BPW not only offers prize money of over 50,000 euros for the best concepts, but also free reports from experts to check the viability of the business idea. These support offers are part of an annual program that runs from October to July and helps founders create business concepts through seminars and workshops through the BPW Academy. The network offers valuable know-how and opportunities for exchange.

Participation in business plan competitions like the BPW gives founders the chance to develop their idea in a structured and marketable way. Professional advice helps you recognize your strengths and weaknesses and define your target group more clearly. This comprehensive support is crucial in order not to lose touch with the dynamic start-up landscape in Berlin and Brandenburg.
