Viadrina launches innovative study programs: Dual Bachelor program from October!
On May 30, 2025, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will present a new and first-class range of courses. From October 2025, courses with socially relevant career paths and international perspectives will be offered there. Enrollment for the winter semester 2025/26 starts on June 2, 2025.
A special highlight of the new offering is the dual Bachelor's program in Business Taxation, which is offered over 7 semesters, i.e. 3.5 years. It combines a university degree in taxation with practical experience in tax consulting. A total of 15 admission-free study places are available. The application is made directly through a practice partner company, with Viadrina offering support.
Range of courses and diverse options
Another notable feature of Viadrina is that there are no tuition fees for all undergraduate and non-continuing degree programs. All study programs are currently free of admission, meaning enrollment without a numerus clausus (NC) is possible. A total of 10 bachelor's and 15 master's degree programs will be offered for the coming winter semester. These include, among others, the state law examination, economics and internationally oriented programs such as Master of European Studies and International Business Administration.
Also new to the portfolio are 13 double programs in collaboration with international partner universities, which enable students to obtain a double degree. Viadrina's study advisors can be reached by email, telephone and WhatsApp to support future students with their questions.
Events and taster opportunities
As part of the information offering, the university is hosting an open day on June 25, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Here, interested parties have the opportunity to get to know teachers and explore the campus and the city first hand. There will also be a trial course from June 6th to July 7th, 2025. Registration for this is done via email study@europa-uni.de.
As part of this trial unit, participants can take part in courses, get to know teachers and students and explore campus and student life. The Viadrina website is available for detailed information.
Dual studies and international perspectives
The dual course of study represents a promising opportunity to combine theoretical training at universities with practical units in companies, which is becoming increasingly popular in Germany. This enables students to gain professional experience during their studies. The various forms of dual study also include the cooperative study program, in which study and work each make up 50% of the training volume. These offerings are also available to foreign students, who are encouraged to improve their language skills and gain intercultural experience.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) cooperates with over 200 international universities worldwide. This gives students the opportunity to complete parts of their studies abroad. In addition, study achievements completed abroad can usually be credited to the study academies. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for students and graduates.
Overall, the dual course of study allows for a high level of practical orientation and enables students to receive financial support through remuneration. Many large companies in Germany offer such programs to give students valuable practical experience and strengthen their career suitability.
