The event will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. in the main building of the Humboldt University, Unter den Linden 6, room 1072. Viadrina will feature various contributions to the digital and political landscape.

The aim of these lectures is not only to impart knowledge, but also to stimulate dialogue about crucial social and technological issues of the day.

The context of digital transformation

Digital transformation, a central topic in today's education and research, expands the scope beyond purely technical digitalization. It includes organizational changes that companies need to remain agile in the dynamic digital landscape and increase value creation. This is also confirmed by the analysis that companies like LEGO and DHL are successfully participating in this transformation with investments in digital projects, new business models and innovative strategies.

For example, after near bankruptcy in 2004, LEGO made a remarkable turnaround through new enterprise IT systems and a return to core values. Similarly, DHL is pursuing ambitious goals through 2025 with its “Delivery Excellence in a Digital World” strategy, underpinned by investments of over $2 billion.

In the educational landscape, digital transformations not only impart knowledge, but also develop innovative formats that combine both physical and digital elements. Universities like the FU Berlin are actively working to integrate these developments into their teaching and research and offer events that are open to anyone interested. These events aim to promote broad exchange and deepen understanding of complex topics.

Overall, the Long Night of Science and digitalization in education and business form a key area for understanding current challenges and solving them. Further information about the event is available on the Long Night of Sciences website and on social media.
