New platform WissenWert: Innovation for teaching at the University of Bremen!
The University of Bremen has launched a new information platform called WissenWert (WWUB) for teachers. This innovative platform is intended to provide comprehensive support for designing teaching and learning and was published on September 3, 2025. The initiative aims to give teachers access to a rich source of information, materials and experiences. This platform plays a crucial role, especially in the context of ongoing digitalization in the higher education sector.
WissenWert offers teachers a lot of useful content that is based on current developments in the area of teaching and learning. The platform provides access to freely usable teaching and learning materials as well as an extensive university didactic toolbox. In addition to experience reports and information on qualification and support offers, a calendar of events for conferences and meetings on the design of good teaching is also offered.
Versatile topic categories
The platform is divided into five main sections that cover various aspects of university teaching:
- Lehren und Lernen: Hier finden Lehrende Informationen zu Lehr- und Lernmethoden, digitalen Tools sowie Open Educational Resources (OER). Auch eine Entscheidungshilfe zum Urheberrecht ist enthalten.
- Partizipation: Diese Rubrik behandelt Themen wie Studienorientierung, Studienbeteiligung und barrierearme Lehre.
- Vielfalt: Fragen der Diversität und Heterogenität in Studium und Lehre stehen im Mittelpunkt.
- Wandel gestalten: Anregungen und Erfahrungsberichte zu kreativen und innovativen Lehransätzen werden hier zusammengetragen.
- Nachhaltigkeit: Diese Rubrik bietet Ideen zur Entwicklung und Umsetzung von Lehrkonzepten im Sinne der Nachhaltigkeit.
WissenWert is part of the project “SKILL – student-centered | collaborative | innovative | teaching and learning at the University of Bremen”. Other project partners include the Academy for Continuing Education, University Didactics & Teaching Innovation, the Department for Teaching and Study, the Study Workshop and the Bremen State and University Library. The platform is funded by the Innovation in University Teaching Foundation in the funding line “Strengthening university teaching through digitalization” and is scheduled to run until December 2025.
