On July 3, 2025, it was announced that the part-time LL.M. degree in Corporate and Business Law at Leuphana University can be successfully obtained in three semesters. This qualification is aimed at prospective students with professional experience who have already completed a degree in law, business law, economics or related disciplines. The academic degree offers an opportunity to specialize in the area of ​​business law.

The course covers a wide range of legal areas. These include business law, corporate law, commercial and capital market law as well as accounting and tax law. The program has now been successfully offered for ten years and offers graduates expanded career opportunities, for example in high-ranking positions in law firms and companies. The master's degree also combines legal expertise with business aspects and the principles of corporate sustainability. Highly qualified graduates also have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate. Leuphana reports that the course content is tailored to the challenges of the modern legal market, which increasingly requires interdisciplinary knowledge.

Interdisciplinarity and flexibility

Due to the growing complexity and internationality of the legal job market, comprehensive training profiles are becoming increasingly important. The LL.M. imparts not only legal but also economic skills in order to solve complex legal problems. This is considered essential to meet the needs of companies and law firms. The master's degree covers both commercial and corporate law and is therefore valuable further training for anyone working in a legal or business environment. LLM degree emphasizes that through the course graduates acquire proof of the necessary theoretical knowledge for the title of specialist lawyer in commercial and corporate law.

The program is offered in cooperation with City University London, which underlines the international orientation of the courses on offer. Classes take place on weekends in Lüneburg, and between the attendance phases, students have to prepare for the next modules through self-study, books, scripts and e-learning. The tuition fees are 13,800 euros, plus around 240 euros in semester fees per semester. The accreditation of the LL.M. is carried out by the accreditation agency FIBAA, which speaks for the high quality of the program.

The LL.M. starts twice a year, in April and October. Applications can be submitted by February 15th for the April start or August 15th for the October start. Admission to the program requires a state law examination or a university degree in law, business law or related courses as well as at least one year of professional experience.
