Innovative study programs: skilled workers for the future in business and administration!

The Leuphana Professional School has launched a new part-time bachelor's degree program in business administration that responds to the current needs of the labor market with a modernized curriculum. The seven-semester course is designed to specifically prepare working people for management tasks in various areas. This comprehensive approach reflects the central idea of qualifying specialists and managers as well as young professionals in order to meet the challenges in business, administration as well as in clubs and associations.

The focus of the course is on both classic and modern business management topics. Students not only receive an overview of specialist areas such as business law, statistics and business English, but also have the opportunity to specialize in specific elective areas such as accounting & finance, digital transformation or innovation management. The transfer of knowledge into practice is promoted through project modules that focus on artificial intelligence, sustainability and entrepreneurship.

Flexibility through blended learning

A special feature of the course is the blended learning format, which enables a combination of face-to-face and online live sessions. This flexible learning design is designed to ensure that participants can combine their studies with their professional work. Face-to-face and interactive learning units are scheduled so that they do not conflict with the students' working hours.

Online information evenings are offered for those interested in which they can find out comprehensive information about the course content and the structure of the program. The course of study will also be presented at the Leuphana Professional School's online information day on June 28, 2025. An optional face-to-face warm-up date on the evening before the information day allows those interested to explore the campus in advance.

Individual focuses and practical training

The course also offers an elective area in which students can choose two of five available profiles: Innovation and Sustainability, Human Resources and Leadership, Digital Business Management, Marketing, and Sports and Business. These profiles provide specialized knowledge in the relevant areas of business administration and prepare graduates comprehensively for their future tasks.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts acquire in-depth knowledge of finance and management, which enables them to understand complex economic relationships. This knowledge is not only theoretical in nature, but is supplemented by practical application and critical examination of theories and methods. This enables graduates to make informed decisions and to recognize and live ethical responsibility in their professional actions, which is of central importance in today's professional world.

The course coordinators Ulrike Kahlfeldt and Maria Rosenau are available for personal consultations. Further information and registration options are available on the Leuphana website accessible.

Overall, the new course offers contemporary and practical further training that meets the needs of working people and prepares them for the challenges of the modern economy. With its comprehensive training and flexibility of format, this course could be a valuable option for many interested parties.
