Creative minds shape the future: PUNKTAUSENDE” exhibition in Hamburg!
The HafenCity University of Hamburg is showing an impressive semester exhibition entitled “PUNKTAUSENDE” until February 28, 2025. This exhibition is a multi-faceted insight into the creative concepts developed by the university's architecture students. The opening took place on Friday, January 21st, with the university president Prof. Dr. Jörg Müller-Lietzkow emphasized the importance of the student work in his welcoming remarks. A guest lecture from the Animali Domestici group framed the opening and created a stimulating atmosphere.
The exhibition presents a variety of innovative ideas for Hamburg's urban spaces and streets, supported by sound and video installations. The exhibits also include models that address personal escape stories, as well as futuristic concepts for life on Mars. These creative implementations not only offer visitors a look at the ideas of future architects, but also invite them to think about current social issues. The university's public opening hours enable many interested parties to visit the exhibition and be inspired.
HCU Day for a future worth living
Numerous event formats are planned for the first day between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The highlight is the keynote speech by Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal entitled “The Value of Existing”. The second day also includes an extensive program that runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Participation is free of charge for anyone interested; registration can sometimes be done on site at the info point. The barrier-free journey and accessibility round off the offer and make the event also attractive for people with limited mobility.
Creativity and sustainability in architecture
In the context of HafenCity and through programs such as “Urban Planning and Sustainable Transformation” at the OWL University of Technology, collaboration between architecture and engineering is promoted. This interdisciplinary approach is reflected in the combination of architectural ideas with civil engineering know-how. An example of such innovations is sustainable 3D printing, which opens up new dimensions in design.
Developments in these areas aim to strengthen the transfer between creative science and business. Together with institutions such as the Detmold School of Design and the newly emerging Center for Sustainable, Digital Building, we are working on a future-oriented concept that addresses the challenges of urban planning. The Creative Campus, which houses these initiatives, is also within walking distance of the city center and is ideal for students and visitors.
Overall, HafenCity University Hamburg, with its diverse programs and events, offers an inspiring environment for students and those interested in getting involved in architecture and urban development.
