MSH Hamburg remains at the forefront: quality seal for psychology extended!

The German Society for Psychology (DGPs) has once again awarded the seal of quality for the Bachelor's degree program in Psychology at the Management School Hamburg (MSH). This seal, which has existed since 2014, aims to promote the comparability of study programs and ensure excellent professional quality. The MSH is thus recognized for its outstanding standards of scholarship and research orientation. The university received the quality seal for the first time in November 2019 and has now successfully submitted an application to extend the seal.

The MSH is one of the few private, state-recognized universities in Germany that are allowed to bear this seal of quality. The approval for further use of the seal is valid for five years. Prof. Dr. Mathias Kauff, head of the Psychology Department at the MSH, was pleased with the confirmation of the high criteria that the quality seal entails. This confirmation underlines MSH's commitment to continuously align itself with the DGPs' requirements and to maintain the quality of its study offerings.

Award criteria and standards

The DGPs quality seal is awarded according to a strict catalog of criteria. This catalog is regularly checked and adjusted. Since 2016, universities that offer a bachelor's degree in psychology have been able to apply for the quality seal. The DGPs board recently reviewed the award criteria and renewed them based on experiences from the first three and a half years. This includes a revision of the QS B.Sc. statute. Psychology, which was supplemented with new questionnaires for applicant institutions. The updated award criteria can be viewed on the DGPs website.

The renewal of the quality seal at MSH is not only a sign of the quality of the courses on offer, but also a confirmation of the university in the academic landscape. The university remains committed to continually improving its programs and offering students a sound education that meets the demands of professional life. This gives MSH the opportunity to further expand its position as the preferred choice for psychology students in Germany.
