Frankfurt Children's University inspires young explorers with exciting lectures!

The Frankfurt Children's University, which has already become a tradition, is just around the corner and will take place this year from September 15th to 18th, 2025 on the Westend campus of the Goethe University. A young target group meets in this exciting place: children aged 8 to 12, especially from grades 3 to 6.

The large auditorium, which can accommodate more than 1,000 children, will be open to the public in the afternoons, while the morning lectures will be exclusive events for registered school classes. These are already fully booked, which underlines the immense demand. Lectures start at 4 p.m. every day from Monday to Thursday.

Diverse topics and exciting lectures

The topics of this year's lectures are as varied as they are instructive. On Monday it's all about paleontology, with the children being introduced to the fossil finds from the Messel mine. Tuesday focuses on archeology and exciting stories about Roman coins are told. On Wednesday the focus is on dentistry and students will learn how dentures are made using a 3D printer. The conclusion on Thursday is art history with the presentation of the Bayeux Tapestry and the conquest of England by the Normans.

Each lecture is punctuated by a quiz in which the children can win great prizes such as book prizes and children's university shirts. In addition, there are attractive offers from the Mathematicum, the Senckenberg Museum and the Saalburg Museum in the foyer.

Food and support

Catering is provided in the canteen, cafeterias and the “Sturm und Drang” café-bistro, which offer the young participants a sufficient selection. The event is supported by Dr. Marschner Foundation. The media partner is the Frankfurter Rundschau, which will report on the individual events in order to make the important learning content accessible to a wider audience.

For further information, interested parents and teachers can contact Dr. Anke Sauter at the email address sauter@pvw.uni-frankfurt.de as well as Dr. Markus Bernards under bernards@em.uni-frankfurt.de contact.

Every year, the Frankfurt Children's University attracts school classes from the entire Rhine-Main area and creates an inspiring environment in which young minds can satisfy their curiosity. This shows how important it is to give children early access to different topics and disciplines, which not only stimulates their curiosity but also promotes their education.
