Kassel Marathon 2025: University team inspires with team spirit in Auepark!
The city of Kassel was once again a center of sporting activity on September 13, 2025. The Kassel Marathon, one of the most important running events in the region, had an exciting edition this year, which also attracted the team from the University of Kassel.
Around 20 university employees took part in the company run, which started at 2 p.m. in the picturesque Auepark. The set distance was 4.2 kilometers, and the “University of Kassel Running” team celebrated an impressive success by reaching the finish in the Auestadion in just 38 minutes. The run was characterized by increased team spirit and underlined the employees' commitment to sport and health.
Unique experience with Kunibert
Another highlight of the event was the mascot run, in which the university mascot “Kunibert” competed over a distance of 300 meters. With this participation, the University of Kassel not only celebrated its sporting side, but also focused on a sense of community and the joy of exercise.
The participants' reactions were consistently positive. Many expressed the desire to take part in this event again next year, which shows that the motivation for sporting challenges is high among the population.
Health and community in focus
The increasing participation in running events reflects a growing awareness of health and fitness. According to a survey, around three out of four Germans believe they need to do more for their physical health. Running and competitions offer tangible goals that contribute to motivation. The benefits of running extend beyond physical fitness; it also supports mental health, promotes stress relief and leads to so-called “runners high” experiences. Running.de highlights that individual sports are often characterized by a strong sense of community, especially at large events that attract tens of thousands of participants.
The company run also plays an important role in the team structure of many companies. These events strengthen cohesion and collegiality among employees. At events like the J.P. At the Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt, team spirit is even valued more highly than sporting achievements. This aspect also became clear at the Kassel event.
In view of these positive developments, it remains to be seen what further impulses the next edition of the Kassel Marathon will bring. With its participation in 2025, the University of Kassel has certainly made a strong statement for sport and health.
