Creative minds in MV: ideas competition inspires jury and audience!

The awards event for the ideas competition “inspired – The Ideas Competition. In MV” took place on July 9, 2025. in the Pomeranian State Museum in Greifswald. The competition is coordinated by the Center for Entrepreneurship (ZfE) at the University of Rostock and aims to promote creative students, researchers, graduates and external people interested in starting a business in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This year, the participants had previously qualified at a local level and presented their promising business ideas to an expert jury, which evaluated them in two categories: “Students and trainees” and “Researchers, graduates and externals”.

The jury was made up of independent representatives from business, science and politics. Dr. Wolfgang Blank, the Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor, emphasized the importance of diversity and entrepreneurial courage in his speech. Tino Arnhold, coordinator of the competition, congratulated the winners and looked optimistically to the competition year 2025. He also thanked the local partners, jury members and supporters such as Witeno GmbH and the Pomeranian State Museum for their valuable support.

The award winners

The awards for the best ideas included, among other things, further training vouchers for professional and entrepreneurial qualifications as well as participation in the Rock-it Week and the Berlin Valley Tour. The following places were awarded in the “Students and Trainees” category:

Support and outlook

The competition receives support from the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Health of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The goal is to identify innovative technologies and ideas at universities and research institutions. This support includes financial resources, valuable contacts, coaching and important experience for the participants.

An event to honor the best idea generators, which also attracts company representatives and supporters, helps to form networks and promote exchange between science and business. The award ceremony not only shows the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the participants, but also the region's commitment to actively supporting innovative ideas and their implementation.
