Research for sustainability in science
The TU Braunschweig is not only committed to science, but also to a sustainable future. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) promotes cultures of innovation at universities and research institutions to promote sustainability. Students are actively involved in climate neutrality projects. Over 35 universities and research institutions are part of the “Sustainability in Science” initiative, which pursues transdisciplinary approaches and strives to increase collaboration with non-scientific partners.
A concrete example is the “DiNaMo” project, which deals with sustainable mobility around the campus in Hanover. Emphasis is placed on low-emission mobility management and resource-saving procurement. In order to promote this change, regional transport companies and producers are also included in the projects.
Finally, the university looks back on an eventful year with a wide range of events that take both academic and social aspects into account. The commitment to sustainability is particularly emphasized, which could position TU Braunschweig as a pioneer in science in the coming years.
