Comic adventures for children: Pim, Pixel and Piku inspire in the Knowledge Forum!

On March 23, 2025, the Forum Wissen in Göttingen will open its doors for an exciting family day of action. Under the motto “Welcome Pim, Pixel and Piku”, visitors can expect a diverse program aimed at children aged 5 to 11. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is free of charge. University of Göttingen reports that the cartoon characters Pim, Pixel and Piku were developed to stimulate young visitors' interest in the creation of knowledge.

The three figures were created by the Kassel artist Colo Kraft in collaboration with the Education and Outreach team from Forum Wissen and a children's advisory board. These accompanying characters are intended to guide the children through the exhibition and draw attention to the various contents and offers. An additional highlight of the day is the premiere of the comic “Pim, Pixel & Piku: The Adventure Begins…”, which will also be published. A second issue is also being planned, which will further enrich the children's exhibition experiences.

Diverse program for the whole family

The exciting program on the family action day includes interactive tours, creative activities and numerous surprises. Participants can take part in a comic and cartoon workshop where Colo Kraft shows children how comics are created. This workshop is particularly designed for the age group that wants to be creative. In cooperation with the “boat people project”, a radio play tour is also offered in several languages, including German, English and Romanian.

Also on the program are a mini detective rally and a large quiz on biodiversity. At 1:00 p.m. the children can take part in the comic and cartoon workshop, and between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. there is a tour of the Forum Wissen, which offers an exclusive insight into the detective rally “The Stolen Knowledge” for children aged 8 and over. Small giveaways are available for all participants while supplies last. Knowledge forum encourages everyone interested to register by email to info@forum-wissen.de.

Digital offers for children

Especially today, when many offers for children and young people are taking place digitally due to the Corona pandemic, Forum Wissen strives to offer innovative and interactive experiences. Webhelm highlights that museums are increasingly trying to involve their guests online and reach different age groups through digital offerings.

With a variety of options, such as online tours and hands-on activities, learning about art and culture can also be felt in virtual space. Projects that incorporate interactive elements allow children to discover the world of comics and their background while being creative at the same time.
