Ceremonial award ceremony: TU Clausthal celebrates the successes of its graduates!

On April 18, 2025, the ceremonial farewell to graduates took place in the dome hall of the Aula Academica of Clausthal University of Technology. University President Dr.-Ing. Sylvia Schattauer congratulated the new graduates and emphasized the special significance of their successes. A total of 56 bachelor's and 95 master's degrees, 33 doctorates and four habilitations were awarded this academic year. The event was organized by the TU Clausthal's Department of Continuing Education and Event Management and offered participants a platform to recognize their achievements and make new connections.

The celebration was enriched by musical performances by the rock, pop and jazz choir “singingTUC”. After the graduation certificates were handed over by professors and the president, who was supported by Prof. Volker Wesling, Prof. René Wilhelm and Prof. Christoph Schwindt, a reception with sparkling wine and beer from the research brewery took place.

Thanks and outlook

Mayor Thomas Gundermann congratulated on behalf of the city of Clausthal-Zellerfeld and expressed his wish to see the graduates again. Cornelia Rebbereh, chairwoman of the Association of Friends of TU Clausthal, encouraged the graduates to celebrate their success and warmly included them in the alumni network. Alumni spokesman Thore Pohl praised the strong study atmosphere as well as the valuable exchange with teachers and the high quality of teaching at Clausthal University of Technology.

Particularly noteworthy is the awarding of the Erwin Marx Prize 2024, which was awarded to Mohammad Ayayda and Abhishek Verma for their outstanding master's theses in the field of electrical power engineering. President Dr.-Ing. Sylvia Schattauer also reported an increase in first-semester students in recent semesters, which indicates a positive development.
