Special Honors 2024
Another highlight of the award ceremony is the award of Lennart Mathis Becker and Arian Ahlers in 2024. Lennart Becker, a master's graduate in industrial engineering, received recognition for his master's thesis entitled "Planning dynamic-inductive charging infrastructures for service vehicles on airport aprons - numerical investigations using benders Decomposition”. This work is part of a research project to develop optimization models for charging technologies.
Arian Ahlers, a young researcher at the Institute of Industrial Sciences in the Faculty of Economics, was honored for his master's thesis “Exploring the Twin Transformation: How Sustainability and Digitalization Interact”. Ahlers developed a dynamic grounded theory model that examines the interactions between sustainability and digitalization and takes external market influences into account.
The prizes are financed by the Leibniz Universitätsgesellschaft Hannover e.V. and the Christian Kuhlemann Foundation. Each prize money is 200 euros for students and 500 euros for student groups. The aim of the prize is to make these talented and committed students visible and to support them on their path to their professional future.
University awards such as the “Leibniz Talents” prize aim to promote high-performing students and innovative projects. Such awards are presented not only by universities, but often also by business organizations or government institutions in order to strengthen the partnership principle between science and business, which is of crucial importance for research and development.
