Shaping the future: TU Braunschweig inspires with innovative events!
On June 13, 2025, a number of events and significant developments will take place at the Technical University of Braunschweig. Among other things, the administration's second Jour fixe will take place on June 18th at 10 a.m. in the auditorium in the House of Science. The focus is on important topics such as the alumni network and the challenges of working in summer heat.
Another highlight will be the “CampusXperience” university sports festival on June 22nd from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sports groups present new sports on the outdoor area, supplemented by a stage program and childcare.
Research and awards
The Department of Work, Organizational and Social Psychology receives a prize for the “Best Research Environment”. This honor, which is endowed with 100,000 euros, recognizes the fair working conditions within this institution.
In addition, the Institute for Educational Psychology is investigating the influence of short videos on learning. The results of this study were published in the journal Computers & Education.
A special honor was also bestowed on the Institute of Sports Science, which received the special prize from the Lower Saxony State Sports Association for the project “BuS – Movement and Language Promotion”. In addition, Dr. Melissa Asuaje Pfeifer received the DDG doctoral award for her dissertation on the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes.
International collaborations and future projects
A delegation from Purdue University visits TU Braunschweig to discuss a dual degree program in aerospace. Purdue is about this Institute for a Sustainable Future strongly committed to sustainable research. The topic areas include the environment, climate, food security and human and biosphere health. This transdisciplinary engagement aims to solve significant global problems together.
Furthermore, a guided bike tour will take place on June 14th, during which six pilot projects for climate adaptation, supported by Co-Adapted Braunschweig, will be presented. Such projects are essential for sustainable development, which affects all levels of society Center for interdisciplinary sustainability research (ZIN) at the University of Münster.
The ZIN is active in empirical, normative and transformative research and promotes collaboration between different disciplines. It also supports the public discussion about ecological and social sustainability.
Diverse offers and further training
With regard to further training, a new program for TU employees will open on June 19th at 10 a.m. Internal quality assurance is also promoted through a planned network of the internal audit department. Another exciting offer will be the summer holiday program at the TU for children, which includes creative workshops such as “Fun for Research” and 3D printing.
The program will be rounded off with a science salon on June 18th in the TRAFO Hub, where 30 scientists will exchange ideas with visitors at 20 thematic tables. So it remains exciting to see what innovative strength and scientific impulses will come from TU Braunschweig in the coming weeks.
