The Technical University of Dortmund recently achieved excellent placements in the CHE ranking. The Faculty of Biological and Chemical Engineering in particular achieved top positions in Germany in three out of four categories. The mechanical engineering and electrical engineering and information technology courses were also able to hold their own among the top ten in several categories. Library offerings and campus infrastructure
In parallel to the academic successes, the TU Dortmund is also working on infrastructural development. The Emil Figge Library replaces the central library and becomes part of a new library concept with four locations. The collection includes over 1 million printed books and other media, including almost 562,000 e-books. The four library locations offer over 600 jobs, which is of great importance during the ongoing construction phase.
The Emil Figge Library, which is open until 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday, is complemented by the Sebrath Library, which is open until 8 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Students also benefit from an additional 1,800 study places and innovative facilities such as the MakerSpace in the Hybrid Learning Center. This state-of-the-art space offers, among other things, 3D printers and studios for podcast and video.

According to the evaluations of the CHE university ranking, over two thirds of those surveyed rated their general study situation positively. Around 29.3% of students gave the highest rating of five stars, while 44.4% gave four stars.
