On October 9, 2025, the international university rankings by Times Higher Education (THE) were published, in which the University of Münster achieved a remarkable rank. Five universities from China are now represented in the top 40, which represents an increase of three institutions compared to the previous year. Additionally, India is highlighted as an emerging force in higher education as the country for the first time has the second highest number of ranked universities, behind the US.
