University of Siegen pedals at CITY CYCLING 2025!

The University of Siegen has decided to once again take part in CITY CYCLING, an important Climate Alliance initiative that will enter the next round in 2025. From theMay 31 to June 20, 2025All university members can collect their kilometers for the university team. Registrations are already on the website stadtradeln.de possible.

Participants can form their own sub-teams within the main team, for example for faculties or working groups. This flexibility not only promotes competition, but also team spirit among the participants.

Goal of the action

CITY CYCLING aims to cover everyday routes by bike in a climate-friendly way. Not only is the promotion free, but it also offers numerous cycling tours and activities in the region during the promotion period. Information about these actions is provided below stadtradeln.de/siegen published. In addition, attractive prizes will be raffled off among all participants.

In the context of the University of Siegen's last participation in CITY CYCLING, which took place fromAugust 21st to September 10th, 2021took place, university members were also able to collect kilometers for the university team during this period. The campaign was very popular, and the result helped to identify the most cycling-active communities as well as the best teams and cyclists throughout Germany.

From participation to the whole

Last year's campaign made it possible for the first time for the Siegen-Wittgenstein district and the associated municipalities such as Siegen, Freudenberg, Hilchenbach, Kreuztal, Bad Berleburg, Neunkirchen, Wilnsdorf, Burbach and Erndtebrück to take part in CITY CYCLING. This not only strengthened the sense of community within the university, but also promoted networking with the region.

It was also easy for the participants to record the kilometers they cycled using the CITY CYCLING app designed for this purpose. This app also made it possible to calculate the CO2 emissions saved and thus make the positive effects of cycling on the environment visible. The university's measures in line with the CITY CYCLING initiative, including the planned bicycle parking garages and bicycle streets at the new campus locations, show the university's commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly mobility.
