Future-oriented: TU Dortmund opens doors for high school graduates!

Since March 20, 2025, the Technical University of Dortmund has been offering a comprehensive series of events entitled "Abi! And then?" to. This initiative is aimed primarily at high school graduates and is intended to provide valuable insights into various study programs and the application process. The TU Dortmund presents a total of 32 bachelor's degree programs and more than 30 teaching subjects. Parents and teachers are also warmly invited to take part in the events.

The series of events includes eight dates on which study advisors explain the respective study programs, requirements and career opportunities to participants. In addition, at the beginning of each event, an overview of general study information is provided by the central student advisory service. A particularly important date is June 11th, when there will be a lecture on the topics of application and enrollment. Participation in the lectures is free and no prior registration is required. Links to the digital events will be made available shortly before the respective dates.

For students who want to study to become a teacher at TU Dortmund, it is important to know that they have to apply and take an aptitude test. After passing the aptitude test, which can also be taken at other recognized universities in the subjects of art, music or sport, applicants have until July 15th to apply for a credit for their average university entrance qualification grade. However, it should be noted that this regulation does not apply to all types of schools at TU Dortmund and students who are already enrolled will not be granted a bonus. Support offers from the Central Student Advisory Service

The central student advisory service at TU Dortmund offers comprehensive support for prospective and current students. These offers are particularly aimed at people who are unsure about their future career path. The tasks of the Central Student Advisory Service include providing information about study options, their goals, content and structure, as well as advice on the targeted design of the course of study in order to enable a degree to be completed within the standard period of study.

In addition, special advisory services are provided, including information on study requirements, support with the application process, requests for leave of absence and special study plans. According to the Nordhausen University website, the contact points for student financing problems and personal concerns are also part of the advisory service.
