Alumni Homecoming 2025: Memories and successes on the WHU campus!

On September 23, 2025, almost 300 graduates of the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management returned to the campus in Vallendar for the Alumni Homecoming. The event took place in ideal late summer conditions and offered a varied program that thrilled all participants.

A warm welcome awaited the returnees at the WHU campus. A brunch buffet, a coffee bike and an ice cream stand ensured the physical well-being of the alumni. In addition, campus tours were offered, during which the alumni explored both familiar and new places at the university.

Events and highlights

The Burgplatz festival, where various student initiatives presented their projects, received particular attention. Former students were given the opportunity to interact with current students and gain insights into campus life. The initiatives presented included:

  • Campus for Finance
  • WHU Campus for Supply Chain Management
  • confluentes
  • Euromasters
  • IdeaLab!
  • Saidia Consulting
  • SmartUp
  • TEDxWHU
  • WHU Family Business Club

Inspiring speeches were given by Prof. Dr. Christian Andres, Rector of WHU, who discussed the university's development into one of the leading business schools in Europe, and Dr. Marco Vietor, Chairman of the WHU Alumni Organization In Praxi. Vietor highlighted the strength of the alumni community, which now has over 7,500 members and organizes around 250 events annually. An impressive 6.6 million euros in donations were also collected.

Successes of the WHU and alumni community

Another highlight of the event was the lecture by Prof. Dr. Dries Faems, who presented the achievements of the WHU founders. Over the past decade, over 2,000 companies have been founded, creating more than 60,000 jobs and raising $7 billion in venture capital.

The Alumni Homecoming 2025 not only highlighted WHU's successes, but also highlighted the close connection between alumni and the university across generations. More than 40 years after WHU was founded, the connection to the alma mater remains of great importance for the alumni.

The event ended with an evening event at Adaccio in Koblenz, where participants rounded off the day with good food, music and networking in a relaxed atmosphere. These meetings are an essential part of the alumni network, which acts as a platform for exchange, networking and personal development. Alumni bring back not only experience and knowledge, but also support to the academic community, making them important ambassadors for their alma mater, as on Munich Business School is executed.

Overall, this year's Alumni Homecoming impressively demonstrated that WHU is more than just a business school; it forms a lifelong community that helps alumni expand professional networks and maintain personal relationships while supporting the development of the university according to WHU and explained by In Praxi.
