CodeStar: Your entry into computer science begins now!

The new project “CodeStar – Your Springboard into Computer Science” from the RPTU Computer Science Department aims to inspire students, their parents and other interested parties for the world of computer science. On August 20, 2025, the organizers announced that there would be an information session for parents on August 26, 2025 to explain the importance of early exposure to computer science. Online taster evenings are planned for school students and will take place on September 16th and 18th, 2025.

What is particularly noteworthy is that participation in both online formats is free. The online information event for parents begins at 5 p.m. and does not require prior registration. The taster evening for students also starts at the same times; both events have identical content and offer an insight into the subject area.

Insights into computer science

The trial evenings offer participants the opportunity to try out computer science in a playful way and to deal with the basics of algorithms and problem solving. No previous knowledge is required, making the offer particularly attractive for students who are thirsty for knowledge. Those interested can simply join via the links provided.

The series of events is an important part of the effort to increase awareness of digital learning formats. The “CodeStar” project aims to impart practical information technology knowledge. In particular, the importance of hands-on insights into algorithmic problem solving is discussed, explains the study manager in the computer science department, Christian Bogner.

Contact information and registration options

Parents and interested parties who would like to find out more about the project can contact Christian Bogner. His contact details are: telephone 0631/205-2572 and email christian.bogner(at)cs.rptu.de.

The “CodeStar” initiative corresponds to the trend of expanding digital educational offerings and tailoring them to the needs of young people. Given the increasing importance of computer science in various professional fields, such programs represent a valuable resource for the future. Further information is available on the RPTU website to find.

In addition, the AI-Campus platform emphasizes that digital learning formats will play an even more central role in education in the future. It is advisable for those interested to follow these developments closely in order to be well prepared for the digital requirements of the future.
