Dr. Christoph Glaser takes over the board of the WHU Foundation – new course!

The WHU Foundation has made a significant new appointment to the board. With Dr. Dr. Christoph Glaser has been appointed an experienced expert who will support the university in its ongoing strategy process. This is reported by the WHU.

In collaboration with representatives of the WHU Foundation, such as Dr. Toni Calabretti and Annette Heuser, as well as the alumni organization In Praxi, Glaser will actively shape the strategic direction of the university. An important step will be the vote on the formal handover of the foundation chairmanship to Christoph Glaser during the board meeting in January 2026. His anticipation of the tasks ahead is palpable, and he emphasizes that the university's values will play a central role in his work.

A diverse background

Christoph Glaser has impressive professional training. He was born in Munich and has studied human medicine and philosophy in several countries. With doctorates in clinical neurophysiology and modern German literature, he has opened up various specialist areas. Before coming to WHU, Glaser worked at university hospitals in Germany and abroad and later moved to BMW AG. There he was communications officer for the chairman of the supervisory board, Eberhard v. Kuenheim and supported the establishment of the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation.

His commitment to education is evident as co-founder and managing director of Phorms Education SE. He was also active in the international business world, including for the social business of the Reimann family of entrepreneurs. Glaser's diverse activities also include his role as a board member of the International Art of Living Foundation in Switzerland and as executive director of the World Forum for Ethics in Business.

Leadership skills and ethics

Glaser is known for his expertise in leadership programs that he has delivered for major companies such as Accenture, BCG, GE and Daimler. With a Master's in Public Policy from the Humboldt-Viadrina School for Governance in Berlin and further qualifications as a certified leadership trainer and Integral Associate Coach, he has made a name for himself in leadership education. In this regard, he acts as CEO of Transformational Leadership for Excellence (TLEX) in Europe, as the WFEB reported.

The importance of foundations in Germany can be seen in a broader context. The Federal Association of German Foundations emphasizes that the accounting methods of foundations are often only comparable to a limited extent due to their different legal forms and financing structures. This diversity requires leaders like Glaser to have a deep understanding of both the ethical and economic dimensions of the foundation industry.
