Diversity as the key to success: WHU and Arsipa are setting an example!

The WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is committed to promoting diversity to increase innovation, creativity and productivity. Currently, 34% of teaching staff at WHU, including professors, junior professors, adjunct professors and full-time lecturers, are of international origin. In addition, 24 honorary professors and external lecturers from various countries teach, including the USA, China, India and many European nations such as France, Italy and the United Kingdom. This diversity brings different perspectives to teaching and research and plays a central role in the institution's educational philosophy. The common goal of all teachers is to establish WHU as one of the leading business schools in Europe. The language of instruction is English, both in Düsseldorf and in Vallendar.

Prof. Dr. Pisitta Vongswasdi shares the view that diversity should not only be valued but also specifically promoted. This happens particularly in lesson design, which takes integrative perspectives into account and enriches teaching. In the context of German Diversity Day, whose motto is “When diversity wins, Germany wins,” WHU signed the Diversity Charter in 2017 to further promote a respectful and appreciative working environment.

Diversity as an attitude

The Diversity Charter is seen as an important instrument for promoting a fair, respectful and sustainable working world. In Germany there is currently intensive discussion about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), while in the USA companies are rethinking their DEI strategies. The Arsipa Group has become a new member of the Diversity Charter. V. and is one of the largest service providers in occupational safety in German-speaking countries. The organization affirms its responsibility for safety, health and an appreciative corporate culture.

Joining the Diversity Charter signals the Arsipa Group's commitment to an open and inclusive working environment. This initiative helps to demonstrate responsibility for a workplace that anchors diversity as a core value. In view of the current social and economic challenges, it is extremely important that companies and institutions take a clear stand and actively practice diversity.
