Halle-Wittenberg: Top ratings for educational science and psychology!

The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) received excellent ratings for its bachelor's degree programs in educational science and psychology in the current CHE ranking. The university records particularly high student satisfaction in several core areas, which underlines its position in the university comparison. The results of the ranking will be available online from May 9, 2025 press releases.pr.uni-halle.de reported.

The surveys show that students are extremely satisfied with the general study situation, the support from teachers and the organization of their studies. This positive feedback is complemented by good ratings in the categories of support during studies, examinations and library equipment.

Strong position in research

Another positive aspect of the ranking is that MLU's educational science is in the top group when it comes to supervised doctorates per professor. The CHE university ranking is considered to be the most comprehensive ranking in the German-speaking region, in which over 300 universities and technical colleges take part. Each year, a third of the subjects are also re-evaluated to ensure the most up-to-date data.

Overall, the ranking includes a variety of factors regarding studies, teaching, facilities and students' opinions about their study conditions. This enables a differentiated view of the university offerings.

Great satisfaction compared to universities

Frank Ziegele, Managing Director of the CHE, says that the high level of student satisfaction is a central feature of the ranking. Over 120,000 students gave their opinions on their universities.

It should be particularly emphasized that more than half of the departments evaluated received top marks for the study situation. The great satisfaction is not only reflected in the MLU results, but is a general trend in many German universities. The study guide also offers detailed insights into 36 subjects, including newly ranked subjects such as computer science, medicine, political science and sociology.

The CHE university ranking has existed for over 25 years and remains the most comprehensive university comparison in German-speaking countries, with information on over 10,000 study programs and an interactive map of Germany. The results are important for prospective students when deciding on a university.
