Digital revolution at Chemnitz University of Technology: New recruiting system starts!
On August 27, 2025, Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) introduced a significant new digital applicant management system, “TUCrecruiting”. This platform was developed in close collaboration with several internal departments, including the Human Resources Department and the Personnel Council. The focus is on a data protection-compliant and media-free application process that enables applicants to access the job advertisements centrally via an online portal. The software is based on the technology of BITE GmbH and is therefore a modern solution for personnel recruitment at the university.
The pilot phase of the system began in August 2024 and is now nearing completion. So far, 26 job recruitment processes have been successfully carried out with TUCrecruiting, and nine further processes are currently being managed via the WebApp. It is planned to expand the pilot to selected institutes of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, with the completion and evaluation of the pilot expected in the third quarter of 2025. After a positive evaluation and the approval of the staff council, it is planned to roll out TUCrecruiting to all areas of Chemnitz University of Technology.
Increased efficiency in recruiting
The introduction of TUCrecruiting reflects a broader trend in the digitalization of human resources management. Digitalization is impressively changing outdated structures and opening up flexible, technology-supported processes for companies. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in particular is revolutionizing recruiting by making processes more efficient and helping to reduce prejudices. The combination of technological solutions and human judgment is crucial to ensure fair decisions in the selection process.
The introduction of such systems, like them too rexx-systems.com is made easier by comprehensive documentation and support for new users. In addition, a digital customer forum enables exchange with other users, which provides practical tips for the application. The use of certified consultants is particularly recommended for companies with more complex structures or international locations to ensure optimal configuration and setup of the software.
Challenges and opportunities of digitalization
However, digitalization can also bring with it new challenges, especially with regard to the legal framework. Flexible working and home offices pose labor law challenges that require training and regular legal advice. Employers are obliged to ensure the duty of care also in the home environment, with regard to aspects such as ergonomic workplaces and technical equipment. Data protection issues are another key point, particularly compliance with the GDPR.
The underlying change in human resources management is profound and inevitable. In addition to automation and increased efficiency, a Gartner study shows that companies that use AI-powered process optimization can reduce their costs by up to 30%. However, the human factor remains important in recruiting, and AI should always be viewed as a complement to human interaction.
The Chemnitz University of Technology with its new TUCrecruiting system is not only a pioneer in the digitalization movement, but also embodies the combination of technology and strategic personnel planning, which is crucial for the competitiveness of institutions and companies.
