Study Tuesday” in Chemnitz: When students experience fun, enjoyment and discounts!
With the start of “Studi Tuesday” on July 29, 2025, Chemnitz city center will become the new meeting place for students. This initiative aims to make Chemnitz City a lively place for exchange and enjoyment. Restaurants along the Innere Klosterstrasse and at Jakobikirchplatz offer special offers that are specifically tailored to the needs of the young target group. Students can benefit from various promotions that have been launched this week.
Offers include a free drink with every entree, two cocktails for the price of one and 20 percent off your favorite dish. However, in order to take advantage of these offers, a valid student ID is required. So far, seven restaurants have taken part in this campaign, with the business idea aiming to make Tuesday a permanent highlight in the city's weekly events for young people. Other restaurateurs, retailers and city center stakeholders are invited to join and contribute their ideas. The Economics Division of the City of Chemnitz, the Chemnitz City Initiative and the Chemnitz University of Technology are working together to realize this project.

The participating dining establishments are diverse and offer different delicacies. The restaurants currently involved include:

This gastronomy campaign is actively supported not only by the participating companies, but also by the city of Chemnitz. For this reason, a call is being made to all interested parties to participate in the revitalization of the city center. The long-term goal of this collaboration is not only to promote social exchange among students, but also to increase the attractiveness of the city center for all age groups. At a time when it is particularly important to encourage young people to take part in social activities, the “Studi Tuesday” initiative sends a clear signal for community coexistence in Chemnitz. The proximity between science and gastronomy is promoted so that it becomes a distinctive part of urban life. Many young people who have recently moved to the city will be happy about such an offer.
