Chemnitz University of Technology is launching a major advertising offensive for prospective students!
Chemnitz University of Technology has launched an extensive student advertising campaign entitled “My studies. My future. Chemnitz University of Technology”. This initiative aims to increase the visibility of the university and the city of Chemnitz, as well as to publicize 115 different study programs and increase enrollment numbers. The information comes from TU Chemnitz.
The campaign follows a multichannel approach that includes both digital and analogue media. Posters and banners can be found on various campus areas, and the website www.studium-in-chemnitz.de serves as a central contact point for those interested. In addition, social media such as TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn are used to specifically address the target group.
Multiverse of study offerings
In the winter semester 2025/26, Chemnitz University of Technology offers a total of 115 study programs, including 37 undergraduate courses and 60 master's courses. New to the selection are the master's degree in "Design and Test for Integrated Circuits" and a further developed bachelor's degree program in "MINT: mathematics, computer science and natural sciences with applications in technology", which is aimed at teaching at secondary schools. A master’s degree in “Primary Level Plus Mathematics” will also be introduced.

Enrollment for open-admission degree programs is possible until September 20, 2024. The university has also reserved special places for foreign applicants, who must also apply via uni-assist by July 15, 2024.
Involvement of the student community
Student ambassadors have developed their own campaign motifs that represent contrasts when choosing a course of study. This is supported by events at various festivals, such as KOSMOS in Chemnitz and the Highfield Festival in Leipzig. These activities are supplemented by the opportunity for those interested to take part in online consultation hours from the Central Student Advisory Service.
Chemnitz University of Technology is also planning measures in the area of student marketing to further optimize its online presence. The use of search engine optimization and target group-specific advertising in social media is considered necessary to sustainably increase the university's awareness. University branding highlights that effective marketing is particularly important at the beginning of the student journey.
The measures include, among other things, geo-targeting, precise target group selection and improving the user-friendliness of university websites in order not to scare away potential prospective students.
