The aim of the competition was to represent diversity in its social, cultural, gender, sexual, religious and age-related dimensions through photographic art.
The submitted photos were selected by a jury headed by Prof. Dr. Anja Strobel rated. 14 of the works were selected for the planned exhibition. The presentation of the award-winning photographs will take place from May 27th to June 30th, 2025 in the foyer of the university library at Straße der Kulturen 33. The opening of the exhibition falls on the nationwide Diversity Day on May 27th, when the award ceremony for the five best competition entries will also take place.

Diversity as a social concern
The discussion about diversity has increased in recent years. According to a publication by the Maecenata Institute Awareness of issues such as equal opportunities and inclusion has increased in many areas of society. The Diversity Charter and various studies have brought this issue further into the focus of public discussion in order to promote an inclusive society.
The photo competition at Chemnitz University of Technology underlines the growing importance of diversity in art and culture and offers a platform on which creative voices come together to make diversity visible and celebrate it.
