How AI is revolutionizing science: Prof. Färber in Dresden!

In the fast-moving world of modern science, artificial intelligence (AI) is at the center of significant change processes. On October 16, 2025, Prof. Michael Färber will give his inaugural lecture at the Technical University of Dresden. A flexible pay-as-you-go model allows step-by-step development and adaptation to specific data requirements. Another focus of his lecture is the use of retrieval-augmented generation, which acts as an interface between KGs and LLMs. This also involves translating natural language queries into structured SPARQL queries. These approaches help improve interoperability between knowledge graphs and LLMs to optimize data usage.

Specifically, Färber will explain how companies can gain a competitive advantage by fine-tuning LLMs for area-specific tasks. This also includes the integration of LLMs into existing software ecosystems, for example via conversational interfaces such as chatbots and virtual assistants. In addition, the need to validate and analyze LLM-generated content by comparing it with structured knowledge in knowledge graphs is addressed.
