Future of AI: Dresden invites you to the innovative Building Bridges conference!
The Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) is organizing the third Building Bridges Conference, which will take place from September 11th to 12th, 2025 at the Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden. This event takes place in collaboration with the Saxon State Chancellery and promises to present new findings in artificial intelligence (AI). The conference is aimed at leading researchers, decision-makers and innovators from Europe. Participation is free of charge and interested students are also welcome.
The conference will focus on several topics, including AI and health, AI and energy, and AI and microelectronics. In these sessions, experts from the Technical University of Dresden (TUD) will give lectures. Particularly worth mentioning are the speakers Prof. Ivo Sbalzarini and Prof. Martin Sedlmayr, who work in the area of “AI & Health”, as well as Prof. Peter Schneider, who works on “AI & Microelectronics”. The Building Bridges 2025 also offers interesting panel discussions.
Interactive sessions and exchanges
In addition to the regular conference, an interactive session on “Widening Participation” in Horizon Europe will be held as part of Building Bridges. The aim of this session is to exchange experiences and best practices among experienced coordinators and participants, with a particular focus on the management of widening participation projects. The speakers include experts from various institutions in Eastern Europe and the Baltics, including Anna Vosečková and Emílie Trakalová from the Czech Republic and Christopher Marrs from the Technical University of Dresden.
Another highlight will be the HZDR Innovators School and the HZDR AI Lab. Here, researchers and experts present their latest applications of AI research in short lightning talks, followed by interactive panel discussions. The presentations cover a variety of topics, such as innovative infrastructure solutions as well as transfer projects and spin-off initiatives.
