Graduates celebrate success: Ceremony at the CAU in Kiel inspires!

On June 19, 2025, around 60 graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences successfully celebrated the completion of their degree programs. The festive act took place in the auditorium of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel (CAU). In his speech, the dean, Professor Carsten Schultz, praised the academic achievements of the graduates. He emphasized that the graduates learned comprehensive methods to acquire new knowledge and successfully understand complex systems.

In her speech, the Vice President of the CAU, Professor Catherine Cleophas, highlighted the diverse professional opportunities that are now available to graduates. She recalled the important social and economic aspects that are relevant in times of current social upheaval. This underlined the importance of the knowledge learned in a rapidly changing world.

Personal insights and keynote speech

In a very personal part of the event, graduates Alica Feddern and Amine Ali addressed their fellow students. They shared valuable experiences from their years of study and reflected on the challenges and successes during their time at the university. Another highlight was the keynote speech by Dr. Philipp Murmann, Managing Director of the Zöllner Group. He encouraged the graduates to act boldly and seize opportunities that come their way in their professional lives.

The ceremony was characterized not only by personal speeches, but also by honoring outstanding achievements. Maximilian Dubber was honored for the best bachelor's thesis and Marie Niemann for the best master's thesis. Both awards came with prize money of 1,000 euros each, donated by Hartmut Winkelmann from HWB Unternehmensberatung GmbH in Kiel.

Farewells to other faculties

A musical contribution from the band WildBlech rounded off the events. After the certificate award ceremony, group photos took place at the castle, followed by a graduate party organized by the WiSo student council.
