The Christian Albrechts University of Kiel (CAU) has launched a pioneering program for educational specialists that is intended to give people with disabilities access to the primary labor market. This program aims to offer participants the opportunity to pass on their experiences in the field of inclusion and education to students and teachers. Also important is the project that was initiated by HAA Hamburger Arbeitsassistenz gGmbH and pays special attention to the qualification of people with disabilities. With a subsidy of 326,820 euros, this project will be implemented from October 2024 to September 2027. The aim is to qualify eight people with disabilities as educational specialists who can then work at Hamburg universities subject to social insurance contributions and actively participate in shaping inclusion aktion-mensch.de reported.
Structured training
The training takes place at the University of Applied Sciences (HAW) in Hamburg. The training framework is based on the guidelines of the Institute for Inclusive Education. It includes both an entry and a qualification phase. In the introductory phase, which lasts three months, the participants get to know the premises and explore the social space. The qualification phase begins in January 2025, which lasts 33 months and includes a gradual introduction to university practice and the assumption of educational tasks.
