Kiel University invites you: Students show their subject in the Ask a student program!
The Christian Albrechts University of Kiel (CAU) is offering an exciting program called “Ask a student” in the 2025 summer semester. This initiative allows prospective students to immerse themselves in various study subjects from May 12 to June 19, 2025. They gain insights into everyday student life, can take part in courses and have conversations with lecturers.
The program is led by Annika Voß and Dr. Kathrin Ludwig coordinates and addresses students and interested parties who would like to check their choice of course of study. In the last round, 100 participants had the opportunity to find out more about 19 different subjects. What is particularly pleasing is that agricultural sciences will be included in the program for the first time this year. Participation is free for everyone interested.

The “Ask a student” program aims to give participants a realistic insight into their desired subject. Participants can expect numerous offers:
- Ein Tag mit geschulten Studierenden
- Erläuterung des Studienalltags und des Kieler Uni-Campus
- Unterschiede in der Lehr- und Lernkultur zwischen Schule und Fachstudium
- Teilnahme an einer Lehrveranstaltung
- Beantwortung von Fragen zu Berufsmöglichkeiten und dem Studium
- Fachspezifische Aufgaben, die Einblick in die Anforderungen des Wunschfachs geben

Conditions of participation and recommendations
Participation in the program is aimed specifically at school students in Schleswig-Holstein as part of professional orientation. This initiative supports young people in making an informed choice of study. A decree from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture from October 2021 promotes this measure.
At the end of the program, participants receive confirmation of participation. Important note: Participants are not insured by the CAU during these events. It is therefore recommended to clarify the exemption from the school or voluntary service agency and obtain the signature of the parents or legal guardians.
