Interactive experiences on chronobiology
The roadshow offers visitors the opportunity to take part in interactive experiences on chronobiology and light processing. The event aims to show how light influences the internal clock and what role this plays in our perception, health and everyday lifestyle. The goal is to make the connections between light, sleep and health understandable uni-heute.de supplemented.
Visitors can actively become citizen researchers and participate in data collection. Research on chronobiology and health
The Sleep Research and Clinical Chronobiology working group, led by PD Dr. med. D. Kunz at the St. Hedwig Hospital, researches the effects of light on health. The group focuses on the clinical application of chronobiological methods and the treatment of REM sleep behavior disorders, which are considered precursors of synucleinopathies, including Lewy body dementia, multiple system atrophy and Parkinson's disease charite.de reported.
The “Light and Health” area, headed by PD Dr. phil. M. Münch, investigates the effects of light on psyche and health. This happens not only on healthy subjects, but also on patients. The research includes basic experiments in the laboratory and applied studies under semi-naturalistic conditions and is supported by various collaborations, both within the Charité and internationally.
