Discover the magic of the summer concert at TU Ilmenau!

The... invites you to a special kind of musical event Ilmenau University of Technology to a romantic summer concert. This concert takes place as part of the “Music in the Audimax” cultural series and promises a varied program.

The concert is dated July 1, 2025. It will start at 7:30 p.m., with admission opening half an hour earlier, at 7:00 p.m. The event location is the Humboldtbau, Audimax, at Kirchhoffplatz 1 in 98693 Ilmenau. Entrance fees for the evening are 10 euros or a reduced price of 5 euros.

The musical program

The Academic Orchestra of the TU Ilmenau will perform several works under the direction of Pamela Mayorga. Highlights include Ludwig van Beethoven's Overture to "The Creatures of Prometheus", op. 43, and Josef Suk's Serenade, op. 6. The latter, an early composition by Suk, was written when he was only 18 years old. The rarely heard 2nd Symphony in A minor by Elfrida Andrées, which combines romantic tradition with an independent musical language, is also part of the program.

More concert offers

Parallel to this event, this offers Academic Orchestra Freiburg a series of concerts. On Friday, July 4, 2025, at 8 p.m., Paul Hindemith's "Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber" and Peter Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique" will be performed at the Konzerthaus Freiburg under the direction of Xiao Zhuo.

The orchestra is also planning numerous extraordinary concerts for the coming seasons. For example, in the winter semester 2025/26 on February 15, 2026 at 6 p.m. Sergei Rachmaninoff's 2nd Symphony and Anatoly Lyadow's "The Enchanted Lake" will be performed. These events promise to keep the love of classical music alive in Freiburg.

In addition, the city ensures Frankfurt with numerous offers in the current cultural scene to ensure that music lovers get their money's worth. The diversity of the events is reflected in a wide range of international and regional artists who amaze the audience.
